



Gemma Langlands
Advanced Practice Physiotherapist
Gemma has over 20 years experience working in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and predominantly specialises in sport. The start of her career was in the NHS hospital division gaining experience in a variety of areas including orthopaedics, neurology, MOE and rheumatology. Specialising in sports has given Gemma the pleasure of working with a variety of governing bodies such as the Scottish Rugby Union, Judo Scotland, Scottish Hockey Union and Scottish Athletics. She was a member of the physio team at FASIC at the University of Edinburgh for 18 years where she ran their satellite clinic and lectured, on top of being part of the sports medicine team. She is now, as well as running East Lothian Physiotherapy, an Advanced Practice Physiotherapist for the NHS in Edinburgh. She has been the Lead Physiotherapist for the PAiS (Performance Athletes in Schools) programme for over 10 years and continues to do this role.

Msc Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy (Distinction)
World Rugby accredited First Aid Educator
AACP Approved Acupuncture training and Acupuncture for Sport
APPI pilates matwork qualified instructor
Society of Orthopaedic Medicine – qualified
Demonstrates adherence to high professional standards.
Ensures legal and ethical practice in physiotherapy.
